TUESDAY, 22nd OCTOBER 2024 - A GOOD RESULT

As you may know, I'm a member of the St Neots & District Camera Club. Each year we have 6 internal competitions and in each, members can submit one image in 3 of the 4 categories. This year I'm focussing on the colour print, mono print and mono projected image categories. 
The reason I'm telling you this is that in our competition this week, I got my best result ever. And this being my own personal blog, I feel it's ok to blow my own trumpet a bit  😀.  So, marked out of 20, my entries scored 18, 20 and 20. I've never had two top-scoring images before.


Anyway, here are my entries

MONO PRINT - "At Rest"   (18)




COLOUR PRINT - "Hanging by a Thread"  (20)



MONO PROJECTED IMAGE - "Tranquility"  (20)


I can't see me ever topping that so maybe I should retire from competitions at my peak  😀

Friday, 8th March 2024 - HATFIELD WATER MILL

Today, the U3A Photography Group visited the Water Mill at Hatfield. Unfortunately any catering facilities they may have were not open today so we met in the nearby Tesco cafe for the almost essential coffee before going to the mill, ready for some photography.    The inside of the mill was lit by sodium lamps. They might be good for the eye but not for colour photography.  To avoid those problems, I processed these images in black & white and then added a sepia tint which I thought suited the subject. And finally, my personal favourite of the day ... Thanks for checking my blog   ðŸ™‚ Den

Sunday , 4th February 2024 - Farewell Band Gang, Hello Band Crew

Well, we went to the Anchor for lunch today as the Band Gang, had a very enjoyable meal, and then departed renamed as the Band Crew. Apparently the original name could somehow get confused with another "activity".  It's beyond me but if someone could explain it to me I'd be most grateful  😜 _____________________
