Monday, 12th February 2024 - U3A Photography Group Outing

This month's Group outing was to see the snowdrops at Benington Lordship near Stevenage.  This was an emotional trip for me because this time last year Mave and I did the same trip and it was the last day out we had together before she was taken ill on the 16th.

Apart from a chilly breeze at times., it was a lovely sunny day and the snowdrops were in full bloom.  Lots of crocuses were flowering too.
Here are some of my photos.

There's a nice little church nearby where she took one of her favourite photo - a stained-glass window. I keep a print of it on our lounge wall. I took a similar (but poorer) version today.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog. It'd mean a lot to me if you added a comment so I can see you've visited and if you could include your name or initial, I'd have a better idea who the comment was from.

Bye for now,  Den

  1. That must have been a tough outing for you Den but you've got through another landmark event and captured some beautiful images. Mave would be proud of you! Marion B

  3. Life is made up of memories Den as I’m sure you know. Days like the Bennington Lordship trip brought back good and not so good memories of Mave. It was as you said Mave’s last venture before she became ill but, at the same time you have a great memory to which is on your wall at home , the stained glass window. Life goes on and memories are always there.

  4. Den, I remember the visit last year very well and chatting with Mave and you. The weather was kind last year too. Sad memories but lovely ones too. Sylvia
