Monday , 11th December 2023 - Wimpole Winter Lights

Today was the day (evening) of the Old Geezers visit I organised to see the Christmas lights at Wimpole Hall. All 6 of us were going and I'd printed out tickets and carpark passes and distributed them in advance. So I thought it was just a formality to ask if they'd all got tickets when we met in the carpark. You've guessed it - someone said h thought I'd got the tickets!  I'll spare his blushes by not mentioning his name  .... but he does shoot with a Nikon  😉.  Anyway, thankfully, I had the relevant email on my phone and we were scanned in using that.

It was a good evening and the weather was kind And it wasn't as crowded as I'd expected.  Here are some of the photos I took.

Friday, 8th March 2024 - HATFIELD WATER MILL

Today, the U3A Photography Group visited the Water Mill at Hatfield. Unfortunately any catering facilities they may have were not open today so we met in the nearby Tesco cafe for the almost essential coffee before going to the mill, ready for some photography.    The inside of the mill was lit by sodium lamps. They might be good for the eye but not for colour photography.  To avoid those problems, I processed these images in black & white and then added a sepia tint which I thought suited the subject. And finally, my personal favourite of the day ... Thanks for checking my blog   ðŸ™‚ Den

Sunday , 4th February 2024 - Farewell Band Gang, Hello Band Crew

Well, we went to the Anchor for lunch today as the Band Gang, had a very enjoyable meal, and then departed renamed as the Band Crew. Apparently the original name could somehow get confused with another "activity".  It's beyond me but if someone could explain it to me I'd be most grateful  😜 _____________________
