Friday, 1st December 2023 - Snooker
Today I travelled up to York to spend the weekend with Mave's immediate family. I stopped at Doncaster on the way to have lunch with one of Mave's oldest friends , GL, and her son M. It was good to see them again - the first time since the funeral.
Then back on the road to York and the mist gradually thickened, but not dangerously. R had cooked a very nice lasagne for dinner and then S and I spent the evening at York Barbican where the UK Snooker Championship was being held. It was the second quarter final session and S had got us tickets. I didn't take a camera but did take a few (poor) phone pictures to remember the evening. This was the view from my seat
The matches we saw were Ding Jonhui vs Mark Williams (won by Ding)
and Mark Selby vs Judd Trump (won by Judd)
It was my first experience of live snooker and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you S.
